Every ticket purchased, hand played, auction bid, and raffle entry helps provide essential resources, comfort, and opportunities for children in foster care. Together, we can go all in for a cause that changes lives, one child at a time.

The Need Is Real

In 2025, there were 1,737 children in foster care and 793 foster homes in South Dakota.

Behind every number is a child who didn't choose their circumstances; a child who needs safety, stability, support, and hope.

The Closet: Meeting Immediate Needs

The Closet, a program of The Foster Network, provides essential items for children and families in foster care.

In May of 2026, over the course of just two days, The Closet helped more than 60 children receive much-needed summer clothing. The Closet has an average of 200 visits each month, and in 2025 alone, more than 2,200 children receive support through this vital resource.

For many children entering care, something as simple as having clothes that fit, a warm coat, or basic necessities can provide Comfort during a difficult transition.

Building Connections and Community

Foster care can often be an isolating experience for both children and families. That's why The Foster Network partners with other non-profits to create opportunities for connection through monthly events and activities.

These gatherings allow foster families to build relationships, share support, and create lasting friendships. Most importantly, children have the chance to meet other kids who understand what they're experiencing.

Thanks to the generosity of our non-profit partners and community supporters, we are able to offer at least one event every month, including:

• Sporting events
• Theater performances
• Cultural and educational classes
• Date nights for foster parents
• Park outings and family activities
• And much more

These experiences create belonging, strengthen families, and remind children that they are not alone.
